Specs compared

How we chose these

We started from every prebuilt desktop in our catalogue equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X processor: 5 priced listings matched, after folding duplicate listings of the same model 5 remained, and we picked all 5. The pool is small enough to include every desktop. Each pick was compared on its GPU, RAM capacity, storage size, and operating system (where stated). Prices shown are the live prices read from the store listing at the time of collection; they change over time. No unit was tested or handled by our team. Our recommendations are based solely on published specifications and the maker's information.

What to look for

Graphics: which GPU fits your gaming needs

The GPU is the most important component for gaming performance. In this pool, you will find three GPU options: the RTX 5060 in three picks, the RTX 3050 in one, and the older GTX 1660 Super in the HP OMEN. The RTX 5060 is the newest and most powerful, supporting NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing for high frame rates at 1440p. The RTX 3050 is suitable for 1080p gaming on medium settings. The GTX 1660 Super is the oldest option, best for older or less demanding games.

RAM: how much memory do you need

RAM capacity directly affects multitasking and performance in memory-heavy applications. The desktops in this list come with 16GB or 32GB of RAM: three picks have 16GB, while the YAWYORE and the HP OMEN have 32GB. For most gaming, 16GB is sufficient. If you plan to stream, run multiple applications, or do video editing, 32GB provides a comfortable buffer. Choose based on your typical workload.

Storage: SSD size and speed

All picks in this pool list a 1TB SSD, which offers faster load times than a traditional hard drive. A 1TB drive gives you room for a game library and files. If you store many large files, consider whether the desktop has room for adding a second drive later; none of the listings state a second drive.

Operating system: Windows 11 Home vs. not stated

Two desktops in this pool list Windows 11 Home (the STGAubron and the HP OMEN), the Evounic lists Windows 11, and the YAWYORE and LXZ listings do not state the OS. Windows 11 Home is the standard version for consumers and includes features like DirectX 12 Ultimate and Auto HDR. If the OS is not stated, you may need to buy a Windows license separately or check with the seller before buying.

Brand and support considerations

The desktops in this pool come from one major OEM (HP) and smaller system integrators (YAWYORE, STGAubron, Evounic, LXZ). Major brands typically offer more comprehensive customer support and warranty options. Smaller integrators often pair newer GPUs with the same CPU, but with less established support channels. Consider your comfort level with each when making a choice.

Questions

Is the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X good for gaming?

Yes, the Ryzen 7 5700X is a capable gaming processor. With 8 cores and 16 threads, it handles modern games well and provides enough performance for multitasking while gaming, such as streaming or running Discord. It pairs well with mid-range GPUs like the RTX 5060 found in three of the picks here.

What is the difference between the RTX 5060 and the RTX 3050?

The RTX 5060 is a newer GPU based on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture with 8GB of memory in these picks, while the RTX 3050 here is an older Ampere card with 6GB. The RTX 5060 is the stronger choice for 1440p and newer AAA games; the RTX 3050 suits 1080p esports and older titles. NVIDIA's comparison page lists the features of each generation.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage on these desktops?

Most prebuilt desktops allow for upgrades, but the ease of access varies by model. Desktops from major brands like HP often have proprietary components that can make upgrades more difficult. Smaller integrators may use standard parts. Check the product listing or the maker's website for information on upgradeability before purchasing.

Do these desktops come with a warranty?

Warranty coverage depends on the seller and the brand. Major OEMs like HP typically offer a standard one-year warranty. Smaller system integrators may offer similar coverage, but terms vary. Always check the product listing or the manufacturer's website for warranty details before buying.

Which GPU is best for 4K gaming in this list?

For 4K gaming, the RTX 5060 is the best option in this pool. It supports NVIDIA DLSS, which can boost frame rates at higher resolutions, though demanding games will still need lower settings at 4K. The RTX 3050 and GTX 1660 Super are not recommended for 4K gaming.
